9 fixes for IPTV Smarters Pro not working
Go in order. The first fixes take under two minutes and solve most cases.
Check that your subscription is active and not over its limit
Most “IPTV Smarters not working” reports are not an app problem at all. Before you change any settings, confirm three things with your provider: the subscription has not expired, the service is not down, and no other device is using your connection. Each plan allows a set number of simultaneous streams, so if a TV, phone or tablet is already playing, an extra device can be refused or kicked off.
Quick tip: Close the app on every other device, wait a minute, then try again.
Re-enter your login details by hand
A single wrong character causes “login failed” or “invalid username or password”. Do not paste if you can avoid it, because pasted text often carries a hidden space or line break. Type the username and password exactly as sent (they are case-sensitive). The URL must include
http://and the port number if one is given, for examplehttp://example.com:8080.Quick tip: Open your login email and compare each field character by character. Look for 0 versus O and 1 versus l.
Use the correct login type: Xtream Codes or M3U
Xtream Codes details (name, username, password, URL) go under Login with Xtream Codes API. An M3U link goes under Load Your Playlist or File/URL. Pasting an M3U link into the Xtream form, or the reverse, always fails. If you have both, use Xtream Codes because it loads faster and brings the TV guide with it. Our full IPTV Smarters setup guide shows both methods step by step.
Quick tip: Delete the failed user in the app, then add it again with the right method.
Restart your router and test your connection
If the list loads but channels buffer, freeze or show a black screen, check your internet first. Unplug the router for 30 seconds, restart the device, and use Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi instead of 2.4 GHz. Plan for about 10 Mbps for HD and 25 Mbps for 4K per stream, and double that if two screens watch at once. Run a speed test on the same device and at the time you normally watch, since evening speeds are often lower.
Quick tip: Lower the stream quality for one channel to see whether the problem is speed.
Set the date, time and time zone to automatic
A wrong clock can stop the app from connecting securely and makes the TV guide (EPG) show the wrong programs or nothing at all. On your device, open the date and time settings and switch on automatic date and time and automatic time zone. Then restart IPTV Smarters.
Quick tip: This is a common cause on older TV boxes and after a power cut.
Turn off your VPN or change your DNS
A VPN can help with privacy, but a slow or distant server causes buffering, and some servers are refused by providers. Switch the VPN off and test. If you do not use a VPN and only some channels or the login fail, your internet provider’s DNS may be the issue. Try a public DNS such as
1.1.1.1or8.8.8.8in your router or device network settings.Quick tip: If it works without the VPN, reconnect to a nearby server instead of a far one.
Clear the cache, then reinstall the official app
A corrupted cache or an unfinished update can leave the app stuck on loading or crashing. First clear the app’s cache in your device settings (Settings → Apps → IPTV Smarters Pro → Storage). If that does not help, uninstall and install it again from the official store for your device. Reinstalling removes saved users, so have your login details ready. Avoid unknown download sites, because look-alike copies exist and may be modified.
Quick tip: Make sure the device has free storage. A full device cannot load a large channel list.
Change the decoder and player settings
If video stutters, shows a black screen or plays without sound, the decoder may not suit your device. In the app’s Settings → Player, switch between hardware and software decoding, then try again. You can also open streams in an external player such as VLC or MX Player. On weaker Fire TV sticks and older Android boxes, software decoding or a lower quality often plays more smoothly.
Quick tip: Change one setting at a time so you know which one fixed it.
Test another device or network to find the real cause
This last step tells you whether the problem is your device, your network or your provider. Sign in on a second device, such as your phone on mobile data. If it works there, the app and your subscription are fine and the problem is your first device or your home network. If it fails everywhere, the cause is the subscription or the service, and you should contact your provider with the exact error and the time it happened.
Quick tip: Send support the device model, the app version and a screenshot. It speeds up the answer.
IPTV Smarters EPG not loading: how to fix the TV guide
If channels play but the guide is empty or shows the wrong times, the video is fine and only the guide data is missing.
- Xtream Codes login: the guide loads by itself. Wait a few minutes after the first login.
- M3U login: ask your provider for the EPG (XMLTV) URL and add it in the app’s EPG settings.
- Wrong times: switch the device to automatic date, time and time zone (Fix 5).
- Still empty: refresh the EPG in settings, restart the app, or delete the user and add it again.
Is it the app, your device or your provider?
The IPTV Smarters app only plays what your provider sends, so the cause is often outside the app. Use this quick test:
If you use an IPTV USA plan, message our team with your device model, a screenshot of the error and the time it happened, and we will help. Never post your username and password in public.
How to stop IPTV Smarters problems from coming back
- Save your Xtream Codes details and M3U link in a safe place, so you can add them again quickly.
- Use Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi for the main TV, and restart the router once a month.
- Keep the app updated from the official store, and keep free storage on the device.
- Do not run more streams than your plan allows.
- Keep automatic date, time and time zone switched on.

IPTV Smarters not working: frequently asked questions
Why is IPTV Smarters Pro not working today?
If it worked before, the most likely causes are an expired subscription, too many devices streaming at once, a temporary service outage, or a slow connection. Check your subscription and connection limit first, then restart your router and the app. If it fails on a second device and network too, contact your provider.
Why does IPTV Smarters say login failed or invalid username?
Usually a typing mistake, a space copied with the password, a missing http:// or port number in the URL, or the wrong login type. Re-type the details by hand, use Xtream Codes details in the Xtream form and an M3U link only in the playlist option, and check that your subscription is active.
Why is IPTV Smarters buffering?
Buffering is most often caused by slow Wi-Fi, a busy network or a VPN server that is too far away. Use Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi, lower the quality, turn off the VPN and try switching between hardware and software decoding in the player settings. If only one channel buffers, that stream is the problem.
Why is the IPTV Smarters channel list empty?
An empty list normally means the first load did not finish or the login is wrong. Wait two minutes, then reopen the app. Check that the details and login type are correct, that the date and time are automatic, and that the device has free storage. As a last step, delete the user and add it again.
How do I fix a black screen in IPTV Smarters?
Change the decoder in Settings → Player from hardware to software (or the reverse), try another player such as VLC, and check that your connection is fast enough. If the screen is black only on one channel, that channel is down, not your setup.
Why is the IPTV Smarters TV guide (EPG) not showing?
With Xtream Codes, the guide usually loads by itself a few minutes after login. Check that your date, time and time zone are automatic and refresh the EPG in the app’s settings. With an M3U link, the guide often needs a separate EPG URL from your provider.
Do I need to reinstall IPTV Smarters to fix it?
Not at first. Try the quick steps (login details, connection, date and time) before reinstalling. Reinstall from the official store only if clearing the cache does not help, and remember that it deletes your saved users.
When should I contact my IPTV provider instead?
Contact your provider if your login fails on every device and network, if many channels are down at the same time, or if the app says your account is expired or blocked. Give them the exact message, the time it happened and the device you use.
